Ziggy Loves Ackee

First thing every morning Ziggy wanted to pick “apples”, she initially kept calling them “apples” because she couldn’t pronounce ackee but she eventually mastered the name and the art of picking them off the ground once I picked them from the tree. Even before she got her hair combed, changed her clothes or even ate breakfast she was pulling my hand and screaming with excitement while running to the front yard, so I let her. Hey, we were on vacation and her grandmother would have killed me if I didn’t let her have her way.:)

It looks like Ziggy had fun. I didn’t have an Ackee Tree but I did have Tamarind Tree in the yard. Bwoy dat ting mek mi run to da toilet every minute..lol
My mother-in-law actually has a tamarind tree in her yard too and she gave me some that she had sweetened..it was too sweet for words! I prefer the june plumes and mangoes!
Lawd nah talk bout di June plum mon. Did you get to eat any breadfruit?
What I would do for some Breadfruit and Ackee and Saltfish mon.
Yes we ate some and brought some back too! I am so sick of ackee, breadfruit, saltfish, and anything in browning!LOL!
