Wayne Wonder first gained popularity in the late 90’s with his cover of Never Gonna Give You Up, but admits it wasn’t until he did It’s Over Now that he felt his career start to take off. By the early 90’s it was “Wayne’s World” and his career skyrocketed with such hits as Movie Star, Baby You, and The Saddest Day. In 1993 Wayne pledged to only do his own material and has never covered a song since (I’m kinda sad about this, I love when reggae artist cover American songs because a lot of the time they sound better than the originals and there have also been several times I didn’t even know the song was a cover, but I definitely respect his desire to be original.) In 2000 Wayne formed his own record label Singso and a number of artist have released under his label.
