Warrant issued for Beenie Man!!

Lord have mercy, the saga continues for Moses Davis! As I posted on last week, Beenie owes the Jamaican government almost half a million dollars in back taxes and was supposed to show up to court yesterday to explain how he plans on paying the monies but Beenie was a no-show and the judge was not having it! The residing Magistrate commented in court on Beenie’s actions saying,
“no one is above the law, not even me” and subsequently issued a warrant for his arrest. This situation is interesting to me because I just read yesterday on Yardflex.com that Beenie was in Costa Rica this weekend performing, so I’m wondering if maybe he had problems getting back. Hey, I’m just trying to help the man out!

According to The Jamaica Star, Beenie will turn himself in to police today. Beenie Man is in New York where he is filming the video for Paddy Cake with Barbee. Beenie stated that he had no idea that a warrant had been placed for his arrest, “Mi did have court today (yesterday) but mi did a shoot a video an mi reach in late, an mi end up wake up late, suh mi miss di flight. Suh a mi lawyer mi did a count on fi guh represent mi but mi nuh know wah happen …,”
Umm Beenie I don’t think that excuse is going to go over too well. Never-the-less, Beenie Man states that his former manager and business partner Patrick Roberts was the party responsible for dealing with his assets including his taxes. Roberts for his part, is also saying that he is unaware as to why Beenie owes so much in taxes and believes the entire ordeal is a smear campaign against Beenie’s career.
