The Reggae Boyz face off against El Salvador in Dallas suburb on July 26th!

*Update- I didn’t personally make it to the game on Saturday, but reports from those that went are that fun was had by all, in spite of the triple digit temperature. According to the AP, “El Salvador and Jamaica drew 0-0 in their last football friendly on Saturday before resuming World Cup qualifying next month.

Backed by the vast majority of the crowd, El Salvador controlled play for most of the contest, but Jamaica goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts played well.

Jamaica pressured more after halftime, and El Salvador goalkeeper Miguel Montes produced some good saves.

Third round qualifying begins on Aug. 20, when Jamaica faces Canada in Group 2 and El Salvador takes on Costa Rica in Group 3 of CONCACAF qualifying.

Neither nation made it to the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Jamaica last qualified in 1998 while El Salvador is seeking its first trip to the World Cup since 1982.”

Attention all my fellow Texans, the Reggae Boyz will face off against El Salvador right here in my hometown, Dallas, Texas on Saturday July 26th! OK, it’s really Frisco, a suburb of Dallas, but still go Dallas!! There is also a follow-up match scheduled for August 6th against Guatemala at Toyota Park in Chicago. The match against El Salvador was originally scheduled to be held in Houston, but after a little investigation it seems the venue and date were changed. I called Pizza Hut Park and was informed that tickets go on sale tomorrow and range from $35-$65. At that time, you can purchase them online at Pizza Hut Park or at Ticketmaster.com.
