The Marley Resort & Spa

PhotobucketI recently read a feature on the Marley Resort & Spa, located in the Bahamas, in the New York Times and decided to look at it more in-depth to see just what a typical stay at the luxury resort would be like. As the site states, the Resort was formerly a governor’s mansion, but was purchased by Rita Marley after she feel in love with the property after visiting one summer many years ago. That revelation answered the question that intrigued me most when I initially heard that the Marleys were building a resort, “Why in the Bahamas?” There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the Bahamas but I just wondered why not Jamaica or Africa, where they already have ties?

So, with that question answered I was able to enter the website and discover more about the resort and its accommodations. The 16-suite mansion is located on Cable Beach in Nassau, and is a spa as well as a resort. Guests can take advantage of body scrubs, facials, and manicures while enjoying their stay, in addition to eating organic and fresh foods courtesy of Simmer Down Restaurant. The restaurant features some favorites of Bob Marley and accomodates a party of almost any size.

You can view each of the themed suites online, my personal favorites were the following:

If you’d like more information on the Marley Resort & Spa or want to make reservations, you can visit their site here. It looks like a very beautiful and relaxing place to take a vacation or simply escape it all for a few days.

My family just returned from a wonderful stay at the Marley Resort. We had booked a condo for a week in Nassau that turned out to be horrible and needed a place to stay. We stayed at the Sheraton for one night and then discovered the Marley.
