Smile Jamaica Concert- This Day In Jamaican History

On October 16, 1988 the Smile Jamaica concert was held in London at the Dominion Theatre to raise aid for the victims of Hurricane Gilbert. Hurricane Gilbert struck Jamaica on September 12, 1998, the entire eye of the storm crossed the entire country of Jamaica, as a category 4. At least 45 people were killed and damages totaled over $4 billion US dollars. It was the second most intense hurricane in Atlantic hurricane history.
