Damian Marley teams up with Musiq Soulchild & Nas

According to Billboard magazine, Nas and Damian Marley are currently hard at work on an upcoming album together. Nas told the magazine that they have been hard at work in LA for the last few weeks working on the album which will most likely be released in spring, according to his manager, Anthony Selah. The album may also be released as a special edition available only at Best Buy or Target with the proceeds going towards the building of a school in Africa. Nas also reports that he and Damian are also aiming to tour this summer to promote the album.
After Nas’ “*igger” fiasco, I can’t wait to hear what this album will sound like. In other related news…Damian Marley recently teamed up with Musiq Soulchild on a single from his latest album, “On My Radio.” The single is entitled “Iwannabe” and I actually like it. I first heard it in my sister’s car and initially guessed that the singer on the single was Wyclef, but after a closer listen I recognized it was Damian.
Tidbits: Musiq’s “On My Radio” cd is quite nice (especially track 11 “So Beautiful”) and is a must-buy on my personal shopping list. Musiq is currently on tour with Jazmine Sullivan and in case you haven’t heard, Nas is soon to be the proud father of a baby boy with his wife Kelis. Congrats all around!
