Peace Out….Deuce!

Peace out…deuce is what my 2 year old says as she holds up the peace sign when anyone leaves (her Dad is responsible), so I’m borrowing her term to let you all know that Elvis aka Mrs YFA has left the US and possibly blogging for a minute. It’s almost midnight and my flight isn’t until mid-morning but you know the whole international flight thing is a nightmare so we’ll be there bright and early.

My cornrows are way too tight, my suitcases are probably overweight, I’m exhausted, I’m already itching from the anticipation of the mosquitoes, and I’m praying I can relax on the flight, so I guess that all means I’m officially ready! I really don’t like flying all that well. It’s just unnatural to be in a tight, 2 ton piece of flying metal at 30,000+ feet but oh well it gets me to Jamaica in the same amount of time it takes me to drive to Houston, and I really don’t have any other choice if I want to see the fam, so it is what is. I just wish I was on AirJamaica, there’s nothing like a mimosa and a good movie to calm me down and get me in full Jamaica mode. (Come back to Texas AirJamaica, pretty please!)

As I said before I’m without definite internet access in JA due to road construction (don’t you just love modernization), my first stop will be to Cable & Wireless (ha, I’m lying…it’ll be to get some jerk pork and an Apple J or pineapple soda!!! LOL!) to see about wireless access but if all else fails I’ll be blogging sporadically, courtesy of the public library. In the meantime search my archives, I’m sure I have some posts you haven’t read and I’ve even added a search option to help you if you are looking for something in particular.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. (To my Texas peeps especially)Make sure you go see The Great Debaters on Christmas Day and represent for Denzel and Wiley College (it’s a historically black college here in Texas). To my “Yawd” peeps, I’m on my way and maybe I’ll see you at Teen Splash or I-Scream. I’ll be that Amazon blocking your view! To my Canadian peeps, keep up with Da Kink In My Hair while I’m away so you can tell me what I missed and I’ll be celebrating Boxing Day with you this year (just in JA)!
