Usain Bolt featured in new Gatorade “Mission G” commercial campaign

Finally, Usain Bolt is getting some shine when it comes to endorsements (outside of Puma that is). I first noticed this hilarious commercial a few weeks ago while watching something on TV that I can no longer recall. Anyway, what got my attention was Usain Bolt’s ego.  Literally! LOL! That big headed Usain Bolt on legs is referred to as  Usain Bolt’s “Pet Ego”, and is one of the stars of Gatorade’s new ad campaign entitled “The Quest for G.” Bolt and a host of other athletes and Olympians (Kevin Garnett, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Derek Jeter, Jimmy Johnson, The JabbaWockeez (winners of America’s Best Dance Crew)) are on a medieval quest to find Gatorade. You can view the full length 10 minute commercial here.

The second video is part of Gatorade’s “What’s G” campaign and is narrated by rapper, Lil Wayne. The campaign features some of the most well known (and not so well known athletes) in the world, including Usain Bolt. This ad is hot and made me want to look up some of the athletes that were  featured in it. If you’re curious like me then you click on this link to view  an interesting commentary by the creator of the “What’s G” commercials, Jimmy Smith, regarding his vision for the ads.

I’ve often wondered since the Olympics took place just how many endorsement deals Usain got and why he hasn’t received as many deals as some past Olympians, I mean he is the fastest human being IN HISTORY! I have my suspicions but I’ll keep them to myself …for now. Never-the-less, these ads are great! What do you think??
