Did You Know They Were Jamaican?-Busta Rhymes

Trevor Smith aka, Busta Rhymes, is set to release his latest CD, “Blessed”, in August of this year. His singles, “Don’t Touch Me (Throw da Water on Em)” and “We Made It” featuring Linkin Park, have been receiving heavy airplay on video networks such as BET. The 36 year old rapper was born in Brooklyn, New York to Jamaican parents, Trevor George Sr. and Geraldine Green. At 17,, Busta dropped out of high school and formed Leaders of the New School and the group released their first album, “A Future Without a Past” in June of 1991.
Busta’s first solo album, “The Coming” was released in 1996 and featured the hit, “Who hah”. “The Coming” garnered Busta a Grammy nomination for Best Solo Rap Album. Since then Busta has released five more albums, made numerous TV appearances, and continues to wow fans with his energetic performances and lyrical flow. Busta Rhymes is also scheduled to appear at this year’s Reggae Sumfest.
