What is this?! I have never heard of this show, but it is definitely something I want to watch. How can I get full episodes? Is it streamed online somewhere? Is it a tvJ show?

Ok nevermind. I just googled it and I see its GlobalTV out of Canada. Gotta love the Yardies up north!

Hey Marlita, I’m glad you found it. You will definitely have some fun watching all 8 episodes since you haven’t seen it before. Hopefully we will get in the States soon…according to my “sources”, they are working on it!

Da Kink In My Hair (DKMH) is the best depiction of ‘true’ Jamaicans going about their daily lives in the entire history of television. I NEVER miss an episode and personally, I think DKMH is the greatest show, geared towards a predominantly Caribbean audience, in the whole world. Those of you who don’t live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada – ‘now’ do you see the many wonderful things about Toronto you’re missing out on???? This is a refreshing change from the usually ‘all-white-cast-with-a-token-black-person-tv’. Finally, Jamaicans are being shown as ambitious, intelligent, caring human beings with the same tribulations and triumphs as everyone else in the world. Though the hair solon is factious, the street; Eglinton West (Little Jamaica), here in Toronto, is an actual street just a few blocks away from where I currently live. I’m a Jamaican-Canadian, living here (Toronto) for 25 years and for the first time ever, I can finally watch a show that I can relate to and that is 100% reflective of me. I’ve read a lot of negative comment’s on the internet from Caucasians, ‘haters’ or just people who generally don’t understand the show because of the little bit of patois they speak. To them I say, the more you comment negatively and hate on the show, the longer it will stay on the air. The fact that anyone even talks, reads and/or writes about it, proves that it is a very good show with staying-power. Plus, this show originated from a play here in Toronto, by my fellow Jamaican-Torontonian! (Big up and nuff respect to Trey Anthony, Ngozi Paul, the entire cast AND JAMAICA!) TO the cast of DKMH: you all are trail-blazers and this show is long-overdue, keep up the positively and the great work! This show airs on satellite, coast to coast, across Canada on ‘Canadian TV’. That proves what I’ve said before (and I’ll say again) TORONTO IS THE BEST CITY IN THE WORLD-PERIOD!
