Congratulations to April Jackson, Miss Jamaica Universe 2008

Congratulations to April Jackson, she was crowned Miss Jamaica Universe on this past Saturday at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston, Jamaica; and will go on to represent Jamaica in Vietnam, at the Miss Universe pageant, later this year. Keyshia Cole was the celebrity guest performer at the event and by all accounts performed wonderfully, although over zealous fans and a lack of security were a notable problem. Unfortunately, it seems those weren’t the only problems, it seems some fans were disappointed with the pagaent panel’s decision to crown Miss Jackson and wanted first runner-up Doneika Plowright to win. You can view a multitude of reasons and opinions on the issue here. We all know there’s nothing like a beauty pageant to stir up beauty and inner-cultural divides. Never-the-less, congratulations Miss Jackson!
